    I saw this and thought it would be a fun read for women and men.  Men, make sure your clues suggest the heart is involved always, although your head tells you you nheed to show her you do love her in small ways on a fairly regular basis and of course sometime big ways.

Benefits were not mentioned.  I happened to see this in a forum.  You've got long term, serious thinking on your mind and don't want to settle for a lot less.  (I will say sometimes us older, second or third...or fourth relationship folks can handle some variation of the typical boy-girl love affair as long as both of you are comfortable.  It may not stay that way, but try)  I'd say recheck the temperature in some way at least once or twice, after you gave him or her some time to be apart. At the same time take stock of the possibilities and get ready to move forward to your goals. 

SURVIVE A BREAKUP
Did she say "Let's just be friends", "I am not in love with you", "I still care about you" etc.?
Then:
1. It's over - as in FINAL. She's gone. She's NOT coming back.
2. Her FOCUS in life is someone else already. You're nobody.
3. You're no longer welcome. DO NOT MAKE CONTACT. Do not call, do not write - EVER. You're annoying her.
Dumpees, Wake Up:
SHE'S ALREADY MOVED ON. SHE'S HAPPY. LEAVE HER ALONE. DON'T BOTHER HER.
4. You MUST break the attachment by focusing on YOURSELF.
5. Don't even THINK about being "friends" with her. Don't torture yourself.

I must be getting old or I've got a big soft spot somewhere.  If I had ever heard the "lets go slow" or the "let take our time" line in the past, it was clear it was time to move on.  Just women talk for letting a guy know she didn't want to get serious in either of our lifetimes.  It probably still means that in most of the situations, but I did ask myself that are there some possible nuances here that I need to understand better.   In the process of that thinking, I ran across this five page discussion, that gives you the female and male perspective on an interesting situation:  more than a few dates, sex once, apparent outward interest on both sides, etc.  Lots of ideas and thoughts so worth reading, I say and linking to.

Bob Dylan is in Winnipeg on November 2nd.  Albeit with some facetiousness here, I decided, that based on both of us being aging 60's folk rockers-country rockers (I listened-he played) that this is a can't miss-may never have the chance again, performance.  Nobody's getting younger, but the memories of his influence on our lives in those days, and to this day, is still strong.

So the question becomes!  What will he play that will be high points for me?  As always their is a wealth of information from fan sites. Interesting enough his set list has changed for every show on his Canadian tour, except for his two encore songs.  The Bob Dylan set list link is below.

I'm all for honesty, openness and frankness between partners.  The nuance is that it be done in a loving, caring way.  Is there too much honesty, or when is honesty poorly timed?  

I'm also a big believer that intelligent couples need good topics to talk about so why not talk about relationships (your, others) from time to time.  It's one of the easiest things to talk about for most of us, especially if we've been in a few.  As well there is always the often altered reality of movies, television and books that influence our notions of how relationships work.

This is the time of year when hope springs eternal that our golf game will take a magic turn for the better.  I realize now that too often I've not given proper attention to my equipment, my clubs particularly, plus of course shoes.  This is the base element to your game and it needs to be solid.  Only then can you work on the perfectly repeatable swing and smooth putting stroke and so on.

A book, "The Search For The Perfect Golf Club" happened to be leaving my library which is searchable for by keyword in the title such as Golf.  I've linked to a new copy at Amazon.com here but you can search for it almost anywhere. 

As I always do with every book leaving home, with a small tear in my eye and a lump in my throat, I took a quick glance at it.  The Chapter 12, "10 Things You Can Do For Your Equipment"  for $25 or less each caught my attention.  The 10 are:

1. How to properly clean and polish your clubs

2. How to revitalize your grips

3.How to find the sweet spot on your driver and putter

4. How to calculate the right length for your clubs

5. How to estimate your swing speed

6. How to determine the angle of attack of your swing

7. How to identify the most stable roll and flight of a golf ball

8. How to find the correct swing weight for your clubs

9. How to repaint the engravings on your club head

10 How to straighten a bent steel shaft

I'd recommend picking up the book just for this chapter alone.  However, it's also 290 pages of excellent reading for anyone serious about improving their game and having the right equipment for them. 

I'm not saying the most expensive equipment in any way necessarily, I just want to make clear.  We wouldn't want to send our troops to battle with guns that don't shoot.  In the same way, we need to use equipment that gives us the best incremental stroke improvement return on dollars spent.  That doesn't always mean the most expensive of items.  For many of us, our best investment is in maintenance of our existing equipment, a few good lessons with a great teacher and a book or a dvd to help us with the mental side of the game.    

I know this book can help your game and I hope you enjoy your summer of golf more this year.
